Bougainville

Set in the secluded region of Kutahaghat near Kasauli, this hill home enjoys the serenity of untouched pine trees and spectacular views across the valley. The built form comprises of two single storied structures set on two stepped levels, with the open planned living and dining spaces on the lower level, and the bedrooms and lounge on the upper level. The interior is designed in a rustic and cottage like style complimenting the setting. The landscape and exterior spaces take precedent in this project, with gardens on each level and a roof deck above as well, each allowing one to enjoy vistas from its own unique location. The decked entrance area, full-length balconies, and pergolas provide sheltered transitional spaces to blur the boundaries between the architecture and landscape.
